Food: I had a terrific gordita with pork and green chili. It was fresh and well prepared. I also bought some Mexican style snacks. Such as candied peanuts, cajeta, and nut bar. All very authentic and delicious. Service: Most vendors spoke only Spanish. Not really a big problem. They were eager to help. Ambience: It's just like shopping in a local market in Mexico. A beautiful array of very vibrant colors with all sorts of Mexican handicrafts. There is a bakery selling pan dulce. There is a butcher counter selling all types of meats. There is a counter offering Mexican delicacies, such candied camote, calabasa and all types of nuts and seeds for snacking. Summary: It's a great place to spend a day. It offers something for everyone. Lots of toys and notions for the kids. Mexican style embroidered clothing, housewares and much more for women. Boots, shoes, belts, saddles and all types of leather crafts. If you are hungry for a bite to eat there are booths selling all kinds of delicious tacos, burritos, gorditas, agua frescas, and anything else you could desire. And to top it all off...free parking. So for a great day without spending a bunch of money, give the Mercadito a visit. I know I will be coming back soon.

There's a few food stalls, plenty of agua fresca choices, and a panaderia. There are lots of vendors selling toys, clothes, and ceramics. When I got there at 9:30am, there were a few vendors that weren't open yet. It wasn't until 10:30am when all the vendors were open. Some had good deals, others I thought were a little pricey. I understand some things are hand made and others may be imported but the prices didn't seem fair. Not sure if I'll come back to shop but I'll definitely come for the food, aguas, and candy.

Love this place! Good food, anything you need they have, food, candies, deserts, clothes, shoes, kitchen utensils, jewelry, anything Mexican they got it. Love it here.

Navigating through the labyrinth of shops on the various floors of El Mercadito de Los Angeles, it's easy to lose track of time and be immersed in the multifaceted landscape of sharp aromas, exotic products, live music, sounds, and vibrant colors. It seems like every shop carries unique products you will not find anywhere else except Mexico or maybe Olvera Street. And if you like to bargain or haggle, this is a place where price tags are rare, and prices are negotiable for non-food products. On the lower floor, you can find cool hats, leather goods, cowboy clothing, boots, serapes, blankets, religious statues, crosses, Quinceanera supplies, ceramics, incense, herbal teas, remedies, and food snacks. Walking around here felt surreal in some ways---as if I walked into a 3D Salvador Dali painting. On the second floor, there are clothing, arts, spices, mole, crafts, dried food products, grocery, and Mexican Candy stores to visit. On the top floor, there are restaurants, bars and live music. As you slowly aisle shop, and move from one shop to the next, store owners are waiting patiently to invite you to step inside their shop and take a look. All types of colorful Mexican products can be bought here--from the bizarre to the simple. This place is a mecca for all types of Dia de Los Muertos products, pinatas, delicious food, and clothing. El Mercadito offers a free parking lot and is usually crowded to busy most times.

Best churros are served here!!! I didn't even have it with ice cream or the crème you dip it in and it was still so delicious. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The entire market was hot and crowded but there are little stores suitable for all ages. There are bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Would definitely come back!!

If you ever wanted to have fun and shop at the same time this place is for you. Now, it is not pretty, you are not going to Saks or even Walmart, you are going to a traditional Mexican, 3 stories, of food, shopping, dinning, drinking and fun. It is a huge place with more vendors than I can count. If you want a belt or hat from Mexico they have that. Looking for comfy clothes, they have that. If you just want to walk around and eat at all the vendors you can do that. They also have a restaurant and it is great. Parking is easy in their lot. The place gets crowded on the weekends, so I go on a weekday. Be nice to the vendors, not all of them speak English, but you will figure it out and they are so nice. This is just a must.

"Diamond in the rough" "Little piece of Mexico" Accurate. Accurate. Accurate! You can easily spend an hour to two hours here. There's several food stands and plenty of items to purchase. If you've never been then you 110% need to go. Great selection of spices and traditional items from Mexico.
